On October 17–19, 2025, the third annual interdisciplinary conference ‘Researching the Deaf Community 2025: on the Periphery of Attention’ took place at GES-2 House of Culture in Moscow. The event was organised with the participation of the HSE International Laboratory for Social Integration Research. HSE University Vice Rector Irina Martusevich addressed attendees at the opening ceremony.

In September 2025, the HSE Faculty of Urban and Regional Development (FURD) hosted a delegation of leading scholars and urban development experts from China. Two seminars were held at the Shukhov Lab with the participation of Chinese colleagues: the first focused on green infrastructure, while the second explored the theme of dynamic urbanism. In addition, a meeting between the Chinese delegation and representatives of FURD took place at the university’s main building on Pokrovsky Bulvar. The participants discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation between universities and research centres.

Doing business in China today requires expertise in the specifics of national culture, business ethics, and sanctions risks. HSE's Eastern Perspective continuing education programmes, which feature the involvement of leading experts and businesspeople, provide the knowledge and skills needed to enter and work successfully in the Chinese market. HSE University recently hosted a conference on doing business with China.

HSE University hosted a roundtable titled ‘New Challenges for Antitrust Regulation: The Chinese Perspective.’ The event was organised by the International BRICS Competition Law and Policy Centre (BRICS Centre). Special guests included Chinese colleagues from the Competition Policy and Assessment Centre (CPAC) of the State Administration for Market Regulation of the People’s Republic of China (SAMR). Last year, the BRICS Centre and CPAC SAMR signed an agreement on strategic cooperation.

The St Petersburg International Economic Forum took place on June 18-21, 2025. HSE experts have discussed cooperation between universities, investors, and technology companies in the development of innovations, sharing the best practices in healthcare and drug safety, as well as charity and humanitarian collaboration in the BRICS countries. As a result, several cooperation agreements have been signed during the forum.

The team of the HSE Faculty of Urban and Regional Development (FURD) has held a series of meetings with partners in China as part of its working visit focused on advancing cooperation. The agenda included urban and agglomeration ranking research, the development of unique educational programmes in urban studies, and other key topics.

On December 20, the Faculty of Economic Sciences hosted the Third Sino-Russian Workshop on Innovations and Innovativeness, organised in collaboration with the School of Economics at Shanghai University. Three representatives from each institution, including staff and PhD students, presented at the seminar. The participants discussed factors influencing company innovativeness, the role of leaders in R&D investments, and the impact of digital transformation.

HSE University partnered with the First Eurasian Congress of Linguists dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). The congress served as a platform for discussing relevant issues in linguistics related to all language groups of Eurasia and other regions worldwide. Approximately 200 researchers from 46 foreign countries and 300 Russian linguists from 50 regions of Russia participated in the event. 

The annual conference ‘ESG Corporate Dynamics: The Challenges for Emerging Capital Markets’ 2024 has been held at the School of Finance. The event brought together over 20 scholars from leading universities in China, Egypt, Malaysia, and other countries.

On December 5–6, HSE University hosted the 4^th HSE LED Conference: Languages, Education, Development organised by their School of Foreign Languages. The conference was held in an online format and was dedicated to current trends in the development of modern linguistic and pedagogical knowledge. Over two days, more than 1,200 people took part.
