From September 1 to October 1, HSE University–St Petersburg students will be able to apply for exchange studies at international universities in the 2026 spring semester. There are more than 40 universities available in 20 countries, from Armenia to Mexico.

A team from HSE University–St Petersburg has returned from an expedition to the Himalayas. Together with colleagues from the universities of Delhi and Jammu, they studied the local mountain communities of the northern part of the famous mountain system.

The results of a survey conducted by the staff of the International Office among graduates of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at HSE University in May–June 2025 revealed some interesting patterns regarding the educational trajectories of FES students. A total of 90 bachelor's graduates and 103 master's graduates from FES participated in the survey, accounting for 18.9% of all respondents.

In July 2025, Peking University hosted its annual Quantum Molecular Dynamics Summer School, which has moved onto an international stage. Its first foreign guests were students and postgraduates from the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM). They took part in an extensive academic programme and had the opportunity to visit a laboratory that works with optoelectronic materials and energy devices.

Vlada Bondarenko is a first-year student of the Master's programme 'Cross-Cultural Studies of Asia and Africa in the Context of International Relations' of the Institute of Asian and African Studies at HSE University–St Petersburg. This year, she spent the spring semester at the University of Nizwa in Oman. Alexey Kovtun, master’s student of Business Analytics at HSE University, shared his experience of exchange studies at Shanghai University in China. HSE University hosted a roundtable for international students, organised by the interuniversity student project Adventures of Foreigners in Russia. Participants of the roundtable received helpful tips and guides on adapting to life in Russia, along with practical information and recommendations on getting around, where to go, and what to do in Moscow during their free time. International students also shared their personal stories about why they chose to move to Russia and how their studies at the university are progressing.

In early May 2025, official delegations from across the globe arrived in Moscow to celebrate the anniversary of Victory Day. Volunteers were enlisted to welcome and accompany these distinguished guests. Among the volunteers were students from the bachelor’s programme in Asian and African Studies at the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs (WEIA): Natalya Kulakova (third-year student), Polina Slobodenko (first-year student), and Anton Klyuev, a 2024 graduate of the same programme and Visiting Lecturer at HSE’s School of Asian Studies.

School and university students from across Russia came to HSE University to take on the roles of representatives of various countries and international organisations. Over the course of several days, they participated in debates, striving to reach mutual understanding with other delegations and to find solutions to global issues.

The BRICS Youth Innovation Summit 2025 was held in Cape Town on April 10–11, 2025. The event was attended by political and business leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The summit focused on the theme ‘Innovating the Future: Technology for Sustainability and Social Good,’ under which the participants presented their projects. Students of the Faculty of Economic Sciences have shared their experiences of the trip to South Africa, their presentations at the BRICS summit, penguin encounters, and more!
