A delegation from HSE University-St Petersburg headed by Director Anna Tyshetskaya has visited more than ten universities in Japan to strengthen research and academic cooperation. HSE representatives met the heads of the country's leading universities, including Soka University, Tokai University, Sophia University, Hitotsubashi University, Hosei University, Osaka University, Kwansei Gakuin University, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and others. Among the priority areas of cooperation are humanities and Asian and African research, online training, and academic exchange programmes.

By invitation of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, HSE University Vice Rector Sergey Roshchin took part in the Russia-Turkmenistan business forum held on January 19–20 in Ashgabat. In the round table ‘Russia-Turkmenistan Cooperation in Education: Professional Development for the Economy’, he spoke about trends in online education in Russia using the example of HSE University.

Galina E. Volodina has been the Campus Director in Perm since 1997. In February and March, a specially commissioned series of open talks by professors from Goldsmiths, University of London, will be held online. On December 1^st and 2^nd, 2021, the eLearning Stakeholders and Researchers Summit (eSTARS 2021), an international online conference organized by HSE University in partnership with Coursera, will take place. eSTARS will discuss pressing issues facing universities today in the context of the growing interdependence of digital technology, the economy and education.
