HSE University is taking part in the Annual International Conference and Global Summit (AICGS-2023), which began in Phagwara, India, on October 30. This year’s topic of discussion was the new model of international cooperation in the field of sustainable development, as well as the prospects and global challenges faced by universities in the development of international ties today.

An HSE University delegation led by Vice Rector Victoria Panova made a working visit to India in March 2023. HSE representatives took part in the eighth Raisina Dialogue multilateral conference, spoke at a meeting within the framework of the Women 20 (W20), and also held a number of bilateral meetings with leading Indian universities.

India is playing a special role on the international stage this year. Apart from chairing the G20, in October the country is hosting the VIII BRICS Competition Conference, which is held every two years. The HSE International BRICS Competition Law and Policy Centre is involved in developing the programme and organising the conference. Alexey Ivanov, Director of the Centre, recently became a member of the International Advisory Board of India's Centre for Competition, Investment and Economic Regulation—CUTS.

HSE University-St Petersburg is opening a foreign representative office in India in collaboration with Swami Vivekanand Subharti University. On December 7, the universities agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding, having reached all the preliminary agreements in November.

Nandan Unnikrishnan, Distinguished Fellow and Supervisor of theEurasia Programme at the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), will talk at HSE University about the challenges and prospects of Russia-Indiarelations on December 8. The seminar will take place as part of the ‘India and Global Policy Challenges’ project.Olga Kharina, Research Fellow at the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, and Nandan Unnikrishnan talked to the HSE News Service about the project.
